Temp Agencies That Hire Felons
Four Reasons Why Felons MUST Apply With Temp Agencies
- The first advantage of applying to temp agencies as a felon is that it allows you to view and apply for a large number of jobs at one time. The sheer quantity of jobs that you apply for increases your chances of finding a felon friendly employer.
- Each employer that the staffing agency is hiring for will have different policies regarding criminal records. The staffing agency will be able to help you sort through the list of employers quickly and let you know if any of them are felon friendly.
- Many, but not all employers that use staffing agencies need to fill a position quickly. They may be in such desperate need they will hire a felon.
- Many small businesses utilize staffing agencies and are less likely to discriminate against felons.
How Temp Agencies Work
Many temp agencies offer temporary and permanent jobs for felons in some cases. This means that you will go work for a company for a certain period of time, usually 90 days then will be hired on directly by whoever or whatever company you are working for. This often means that you will get a raise in pay and receive benefits.
This may not always be the case though, sometimes a job will truly be temporary and may last anywhere between one week and 6 months. Remember to check back often with the temp agency because they often post new jobs on a weekly basis or even sometimes a daily basis.
Small Local Temp Agencies Hire Felons
Remember to check out all of the small independently owned temp agencies in your local area. These can be just as good or even better than the larger temp service companies. Often times they deal with small business that don’t have blanket rules about hiring felons. This can work to your advantages because you may be able to talk with the owner directly and explain your situation and how valuable of an employee you can be.
Remember that when meeting face to face with an employer it is imperative that you communicate to him why and how you will be an outstanding employee.

I have called 2/3 places Matt lists on this site about temp agencies who hire felons. all of them said that they can try but they do not know of any jobs that will hire me because of my felonies. All they said is we will call u back if we find something. I know they are out there but no one wants to put in the time to help people like us. Its ridiculous because i know they are out there.

Hi
I have a felony, I was released from prison in 2011 and was so blessed to get a job as a Admin. Asst at a paper company for three yrs. I moved up into customer service, buy did not get along with my supervisor so I was laid off. I’m a good worker and welling to give my best to any assignment given to me, but I haven’t been able to find a job in 5mos. Is there anything that you can recommend? I’m currently enrolled back in school to enhance my skill in the computer programs, so my certifications are current.
Hey Tammy I’m in the same predicament. Let me ask you is this your first and only felony? If so then you can get it expunged. I’m In the process of doing that. I’m not going to lie its costly and takes a lot of time, but beyond worth it. If you need any info let me know. Take care now.

I’m a convicted felon living in the Chicago area in Illinois. I’ve been in prison for the majority of my life. I’m certified in custodial maintenance. Food services. Computer Technology, and I also have an associates degree in General Education. I’m looking for a second chance in life, but I need help.
I know a company called Elite Staffing will help
I have a sex felony. No contact, small amount of porn. My life is over. No one will come near me. I worked on health care for eighteen yrs. Served 10 yrs in Navy. Feel like a cast off. I have a 138 IQ. Still can’t find work. We aren’t bad people . Everyone makes mistakes. Give us all a chance.
You’re smart and were able to put 10 years in serving your country which is great. You’re not going to get a great job being a sex offender but you are smart enough to start some type of business yourself. Look into building websites or take a look at the self employment page we have. Start thinking outside the box and use everything you have learned in your life to get you out of this slump.
Matt,
Are you saying that no sex offender will get any job through a temporary agency? Though the agency may not get that person a position in an office, I am sure that they could get a general labor or warehouse position.
Telling a sex offender to go in to business for himself seems like an impossible task. A start up requires money..a thing most sex offenders..and other felons.. do not have.
I am not saying it is impossible but probably not the best place to start (in my opinion). Starting a business does not have to be expensive at all and on my self employment page I have low cost start ups. I started building websites for less than 200 dollars.
I also have a page that is all online jobs that require no background check where you are self employed with zero startup costs.
I too am a sex offender and i went to Vatterott College and got my associates degree in Computer Technology and Advanced Networking,. but I can not find a job as no one will hire me and i was told that i am considered as a security risk. i need to find the requirements for certification to find out if i can still get certified to work in that field or not. Sex offenders can not work in the medical field at all any more. No one wants to hire any one that is a convicted sex offender, they treat us like we have leprosy. I have called Kelly services and they told me that they will not hire or work with any one that is a convicted sex offender or any kind of felon, at all.
Companies are not willing to hire convicted felons who are actual U.S citizens, but are more than willing to hire illegal aliens who are currently committing a felony by being in the states.
Yes, Once you catch a sex offense charge your life is over with,. you can not even go to church at all., as they all do back ground checks on you and when they find out about your sex offense they will ask you not to come back at all, even if you got busted urinating in public. No body wants to hire or deal with sex offenders.
