Help For Felons exists for one reason: to give people with criminal records, specifically felony records, better, more honest and helpful information than they usually find online. Too many organizations and websites make big promises, publish recycled lists, or act like every company is eager to hire anyone with a record. That is not how the real world works.
We built Help For Felons to be different.
Our goal is simple. We want to help people with felony records find real opportunities, avoid dead ends, and make smarter decisions about work, housing, education, money, and reentry.
What We Do
We publish practical, helpful and honest information for people trying to move forward after a felony conviction.
That includes help with:
• finding employers that may be more open to hiring people with records
• understanding which jobs are more realistic and which ones are much harder to get
• learning how background checks can affect applications
• finding housing, reentry programs, and support resources
• understanding financial aid, grants, loans, and education options
• building a better plan for starting over
We focus on content that answers real questions people actually have, not vague advice that sounds nice but does not help.
Why This Site Exists – Stop Recidivism
A criminal record can and will follow someone for years and/or a lifetime. It will affect job applications, apartment searches, school plans, loan approvals, and everyday confidence. A lot of people are trying to rebuild their lives, but the information available to them is often outdated, too broad, or flat out misleading.
Help For Felons was created to give readers something better: realistic guidance, clear explanations, and useful next steps.
Our Approach
We try to keep our content:
• honest
• practical
• easy to understand
• updated when needed
• focused on real world usefulness, not fluff
We do not believe in false hope. We also do not believe people should be written off forever because of a past mistake. Both things can be true at once: some barriers are very real, and many people still have a path forward.
That is the approach behind this site and our organization.
Who Our Organization Helps
Help For Felons is for:
• people with felony records trying to get back on their feet
• families trying to help a loved one after release
• people searching for work, housing, education, or financial help
• anyone who wants straightforward information about second chance opportunities
Whether someone was released recently or has been dealing with an old record for years, the goal is the same: make the next step clearer.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make reentry information more useful, more honest, and easier to trust. We want this site and organization to help people save time, avoid bad information, and find practical ways to move forward. Even helping one person find a job, avoid a scam, or make a better decision is worthwhile.
