Hitachi Powdered Metals is located in Greensburg, Indiana and serves a variety of different industries including automotive, lawn and garden, construction, agricultural and motorsports. They offer a variety of jobs from CNC machining to sales and labor positions. They pay is excellent and they also offer apprenticeships that consist of 8,000 hours of on the job training.
Applicants must have an accredited high school diploma/GED, be able to work weekends as needed, and not have had a felony conviction within the past 5 years.
We have noticed that Malone Staffing Agency occasionally posts jobs for felon friendly employers. They have offices in a number of Indiana cities including Columbus, Evansville, Greensburg, Jeffersonville and Madison. Goodwill Industries – Goodwill not only offers jobs to people with criminal backgrounds but they also have some excellent and helpful programs for those trying to get their feet on the ground. Please check them out and see if a retail or warehouse position is open near you.
Industrial Jobs & Staffing Agencies
Lab Support (Staffing Agency) – Lab Support is a nationwide staffing agency that has several locations in Indiana. They have many different types of permanent and temporary jobs available. We have seen several job postings from them that stated that pre employment felony screening goes back 7 years.
CFA STAFFING (Staffing Agency) – We have seen job listings from this staffing agency requiring the past five years to be free of felony convictions. They have a variety of different positions from numerous companies that may hire felons.
Prolink Resources (Staffing Agency) – Background Check goes back seven years for felonies (No violent, sex offenses and/or drugs).
CAVO Communications, LLC – South Bend, IN – Cable/Internet/Phone/Security Install Technicians. Most of their job postings have the following statement: “When you apply for this job, you will be asked to answer questions regarding your criminal background. Answering “Yes” to the criminal background questions will not automatically bar you from employment. A criminal background check will be conducted following any conditional offer of employment. Only those crimes which are substantially related to the position you are seeking will be considered.
IMI Material Handling Logistics – Some of their job listings state “some felonies will be considered.”
LaCosta Facility Support Services – South Bend, IN – No felonies in the last 7 years and no more than 3 misdemeanors. For the Background Check they go back 7 years back for some jobs.

Greenbriar Village – Indianapolis, IN – Have a clean background, (No convictions under eight (8) years old, no recent Felonies or Misdemeanors).

Transportation Jobs (CDL & Non-CDL)
Ruan – (CDL Only) Employment related felony convictions and pending charges in the last 7 years may be disqualifying. Must have at least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
Kandel Transport – Angola, IN – (CDL Only) No convictions for DUI or DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving or a felony involving a commercial motor vehicle within the past 10 years.
Right Turn – Indianapolis, IN – Any DWI/DUI or felonies must be outside of 10 years. Any misdemeanors must be outside of 5 years.
Office, Sales and Administrative Jobs
3 MDC Goldenrod – Goshen, IN Criminal background check shows no history of:
- A sex crime
- Exploitation of an endangered adult or failure to report: battery, neglect, or exploitation of an endangered adult; or the abuse or neglect of a child
- Conviction of a crime related to the disabled population
- Substantial and/or repeated violations in the care of dependent persons
- Theft, if it occurred less than ten years before application date, except as provided in IC 16-27-2-5(a)(5)
- Murder, voluntary or involuntary manslaughter, Felony battery, or a felony offense relating to a controlled substance
JPMorgan Chase – Note that any felony conviction within the last seven years will disqualify you from consideration for positions within this company.
University of Notre Dame – Applicants will be asked to identify all felony convictions and/or pending felony charges. Felony convictions do not automatically bar an individual from employment.
Scotts Scales Insurance Agency – Bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish is beneficial. Adhering to strict FCC rules, please don’t apply if you have any felony related to theft, violence, drugs within the past seven years or ANY past convictions concerning violation of the FCC rules.
Background Check Limits in Indiana
It is important to understand that some states have laws regarding how far back a criminal background check can go. Unfortunately Indiana does NOT limit how far back an employer can go into your criminal history. Here are the laws in all US states.
Twelve states do not allow any felony conviction information older than seven years to be reported.

Some states will not report court cases where you were found NOT guilty: Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Alaska, California, New York and Michigan.
These states will report unlimited numbers of years back of felony convictions and also report NOT guilty verdicts: Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
