Publix Grocery Stores
Publix is well known and established grocery line that offers good full time positions to felons. They have in store positions available as well as at their distribution centers. Each person’s felony conviction is taken under consideration during the application process. Will they hire anyone? No. There is a real and very good chance they will if you are truly on the straight and narrow. We highly suggest you head out to your local Publix store and put in an application!
Village Inn
Restaurants are great places for felons to find jobs at. Most Village Inns regularly need servers, cooks and bussers. This can be a great way to work yourself into a management position also. In the meantime you will earn a wage while taking home cash tips which is great if you need money as soon as possible. The Village in does hire some felons depending on type of conviction, length of time since conviction and other contributing factors.
Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines does not prohibit all felons from working for them. You are probably best off trying to apply as a ramp agent. Do not apply if you have been convicted of the following:
“Willful destruction of property; importation or manufacture of a controlled substance; burglary; theft; dishonesty, fraud, or misrepresentation; possession or distribution of stolen property; aggravated assault; bribery; or illegal possession of a controlled substance punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of more than 1
year, or any other crime classified as a felony that the Administrator determines indicates a propensity for placing contraband aboard an aircraft in return for money”

Background Check Limits in Florida
It is important to understand that some states have laws regarding how far back a criminal background check can go. Unfortunately Florida does not limit how far back an employer can do a background check. Here are the laws in other states.
Twelve states do not allow any felony conviction information older than seven years to be reported.
